How this painting came to be…
Several years ago…. a random meeting of a stranger turned into a blessing I will forever be grateful.
One morning, I was sitting at a Tim’s in Surrey BC. A gentleman approached me and said, “I know this is going to sound very strange, but God told me to approach you.” I didn’t know many people and I love meeting people, so I welcomed the conversation. He lived on Vancouver Island, but when he was back on the mainland, we would meet up for tea. The odd thing was that he never talked about religion or his beliefs. We shared a few stories & laughs at Tim’s.
About a year and half later, I was really down and out, completely lost in life, no hope, no nothing. He knew a little about my story and he invited to come live in the Hostel and help out.
So there I was ….
The highway ends at the northern shores of Port Hardy, Vancouver Island, Canada. My early morning walks would take me down to the docks where I would find peace, quiet and gratefulness for the moments I was experiencing. Being Homeless and feeling all alone has its challenges, one of which is trying to stay positive when all hope appears to be lost. I was homeless but living out of a hostel in Port Hardy due to the kindness of the owners.
